Ava Rodriguez is an award-winning filmmaker with over 15 years of experience in the industry. Her films have been screened at prestigious film festivals around the world, including Sundance, Cannes, and SXSW. She has a passion for mentoring young filmmakers and helping them develop their unique voices.
Ava's directorial debut, "Lone Star Dreams," won the Audience Award at the Austin Film Festival and was nominated for an Independent Spirit Award. Her subsequent films have continued to garner critical acclaim and have established her as one of the leading voices in independent cinema.
Prior to joining Visionary Films, Ava taught directing at the University of Texas at Austin. She is committed to providing students with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in the competitive film industry. Ava holds a Master of Fine Arts degree in Film Directing from the University of Southern California and a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature from Yale University. She is a member of the Directors Guild of America and the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
